In the Footsteps of Cinderella

The footsteps of Cinderella are marked by fairy tale tour around the Švihov Water Castle near Klatovy not far from Pilsen.

To follow Cinderella, go to the Švihov Water Castle near Klatovy where one of the most popular Czech fairy tales was filmed. The castle features a children's playground. You can also try on some fairy tale costumes provided by the costume rental service. In the castle area you can enjoy bow shooting, horse riding or a carriage ride to feel like a real princess

The footsteps of Cinderella are marked by a 3.5-kilometre-long fairy tale tour around the castle. A pleasant walk from the courtyard of the castle (in the movie this was the farm in which the Cinderella lived) you get to the pond in which Dora and Cinderella’s stepmother fell at the end of the fairy tale. The tour is suitable for walking or you can rent a bike in the castle. If the weather is good, you can end the trip to the Švihov Castle by a boat ride in the castle moat.

How to get there: From Pilsen to Švihov it is 32 kilometres. It takes less than half an hour to drive. You can also go by train. From the railway station in Švihov it is 1.5 km to the castle.
