Puppet Museum

Spejbl and Hurvínek were born in Pilsen, so there is no wonder that an interesting museum dedicated to puppets was established here. The Puppet Museum is situated in one of the historic houses right in the city centre on the Republic Square. The exhibition tells the story of puppets from small nomadic theatres to the present production of Pilsen Theatre Alfa. You will also meet the creator of Spejbl and Hurvínek Josef Skupa and his successor Jiří Trnka. The main attraction of the museum is that you do not have to just view the exhibits in their showcases but the children themselves can use their imagination and play their own theatre performance. Thanks to the programme Expedition on the Thread daddies and grandpas can accompany their children to the puppet eight-thousand-metre-high mountain where they participate in various tasks.

Parking

Due to the location of the museum right in the city centre, we recommend parking for example in the Rychtářka parking house which is about 5 minutes away from the museum.
